Heritage regularly offers several different auction options for collectibles. These auctions feature our award-winning Interactive Internet™ eCommerce auction software to maximize bidding interest and prices realized. Consistent interface and passwords are used throughout the Heritage family of auctions so any bidder who has participated in one type of auction may easily participate successfully in all of them. Your personal Consignment Director will help you determine the best auction for your items. Below is a quick introduction to each auction venue. Currency Auctions of America - Heritage Signature Auctions CAA - Heritage, the dominant name in American currency auctions, became a part of Heritage Numismatic Auctions during 2001. Principals Len Glazer and Allen Mincho, two of the top currency experts in the world, are now a part of the Heritage team, and our combined strengths as the world's largest rare coin and currency dealership and auctioneer are formidable. That combination has already created additional opportunities for both buyers and sellers of paper money, with more frequent (and larger) CAA -Heritage Signature auctions taking place at conventions around the country. Currency sellers now have greater access to potential bidders because of Heritage's huge customer base added to CAA - Heritage's traditional buyers, plus our marketing expertise, financial strength, and advanced Internet technologies. These auctions may be held in Heritage's main galleries in Dallas, but usually occur in other cities, often in conjunction with major conventions or collector events. Items in the auction include full-color photography and detailed descriptions, all of which are posted online at HA.com along with vast additional information not available in the printed catalog and designed to help bidders make educated purchasing decisions while saving them time. These auctions are offered online as well as through a printed catalog, with bids accepted via telephone, fax, Internet, mail, and live during auction event. Signature: Slightly different bidding rules apply to the two different session types:
Floor Session
Internet bidding ends at 10:00PM CT the night before the floor session for this lot. During the live auction event, bidding in person is encouraged, and Heritage Live includes streaming audio and often video during the event. Final Session ![]() No floor bidding associated with these sessions - live bidding through Heritage Live only. Internet Proxy bidding ends two hours prior to the opening of the live auction for that lot. Check the Time Remaining on individual lots for details.) These auctions are presented only online, although the lots are normally available for viewing with the Floor Session lots. Heritage Gallery Auctions Our Gallery Auction venue is different from the rest. It has no public floor sessions, is presented at no conventions, receives no Internet bids, and contains no photography of the lots. Instead, four-to-six times every year, we hold auctions of bulk material at our Dallas premises - the kinds of lots that make no sense dragging all over the country. Dealers, and some advanced collectors, come to our world headquarters in Dallas, inspect the lots, and leave sealed bids. Unlike all other Heritage sales, there is no proxy bidding, so each winning bidder in our Gallery Auctions pays his full bid. Winners will be announced at the end of the viewing week. If you're a sophisticated buyer of material and are interested in participating in our next Gallery Auction in Dallas, please email Bid@HA.com with your address, phone number and business references, and we will notify you the next time we schedule one. Heritage World Coin Auctions - Signature Auctions While we have decades of experience in world coins, HWCA is now a separate entity -- an important sign that we intend to participate in this important market much more vigorously in the future under our new name. Principals Warren Tucker and Scott Cordry, two of the top world coin experts in the world, are now a part of the Heritage team, and form the backbone of our experience in this arena. These auctions may be held in Heritage's main galleries in Dallas, but usually occur in other cities, often in conjunction with major conventions or collector events. Signature Internet Phone These Auctions are presented via catalog and online. Bidding is taken by phone or through our website. There are three phases of bidding during this type of auction: 1) Normal bidding: Bids are taken up until 9 PM CT the night the auction closes. 2) Extended Bidding: On a lot-by-lot basis, individuals that bid on any lots during Normal Bidding may continue to bid on those lots during the next two hours (9 to 11 PM CT). 3) 30 Minute Ending: On a lot-by-lot basis, starting at 11:00 PM CT, any person who has bid on the lot previously may continue to bid on that lot until there are no more bids for 30 minutes. For example, if you bid on a lot during Normal Bidding, you could participate during Extended Bidding for that lot, but not on lots you did not bid on previously. If a bid was placed at 11:15, the new end time for that lot would become 11:45. If no other bids were placed before 11:45, the lot would close. If you are the high bidder on a lot, changing your bid will not extend the bidding during the 30 Minute Ending phase (only a bid from another bidder will extend bidding).
