The category expansion is in keeping with Heritage's continued physical expansion in 2010 — into both Beverly Hills, CA and New York City — and the company's Fine & Rare Wines category will be making use of both offices, as well as Heritage's continually expanding global reach.

After studying at Clark University in Massachusetts and Fairleigh Dickinson University, Frank joined the auction staff at New York-based Acker Merrall & Condit in 1998. He then joined the Bonhams & Butterfield team in 2003 when appointed Director of Fine & Rare Wines. In November of 2006 he was promoted to International Director, taking on a revised role focused on the growth and expansion of Bonham's Wine as a global entity, with particular attention to markets in the US and Hong Kong. Most recently, Frank was chosen by Heritage Auctioneers to carry on their tradition of expansion and domination to fine & rare wine sales. His extensive experience in the industry includes business development, marketing and coordination of both offline and online wine sales.

As early as 2000, "Who What Where" magazine published a feature story spotlighting Mr. Martell, his devotion to the world of fine wines and his success orchestrating auctions. It said, in part: "Martell has rapidly established himself as a superstar in the world of wine... his future seems extremely bright." He has since been featured on CBS News, MSNBC, CNN, and CNBC's "Squawk Box" as an expert in the field and was cast in a primary role in John Cleese's documentary, "Wine for the confused". Mr. Martell works in Los Angeles but spends a fair amount of time in San Francisco, London and Hong Kong.
