Heritage's Long Beach Signature Auction of U.S. Coins Features Wide Range of Rarities

Dallas, Texas: Numismatic rarities across the entire range of U.S. coinage are featured in Heritage's official Long Beach Signature Auction, being held June 1-3 at the Long Beach Convention Center. "Not only are we offering nearly 5,000 Signature lots and 3,000+ Online Session lots," enthused Heritage President Greg Rohan, "we are also presenting our largest auction of ancient and world coins ever in Long Beach ? more than 4,000 lots!

"This is Heritage's 57th Official Auction at the Long Beach Coin Expo," added Heritage CEO Steve Ivy. This is a major numismatic event, and even with our extended lot viewing hours in Long Beach, I heartily encourage bidders to preview the catalog online at www.HeritageAuctions.com/Coins. Our Long Beach auctions contain many extraordinary coins that may not return to the market for many years ? in some cases, many decades ? and bidders will want to maximize their lot viewing time. With more than 12,000 lots available in our auctions, you don't want to wait until the last minute to prepare your bidding strategy!"

"Our Long Beach anchor consignments," continued Rohan, "include The Empire Tree Collection (the #3 Registry sets on both PCGS and NGC of Indian proof cents and the #6 Registry sets on both PCGS and NGC of Lincoln proof cents), The Rusty Forehand Collection (whose first rare coin purchase was the 1907 Indian $10, MS68 PCGS, and previously MS68* NGC), and Part Two of The Steve Glenn Collection, The Hayward Collection, and The Ron W. Keeney Collection (all resulting from a family line of collectors). Most fascinating to numismatists will be the story of The Lewis (Tahoe) Collection, specializing in the coinage of the Carson City Mint; started in the 1930s, this collection was well off the market for many decades, buried in waterproof canisters surrounding the collector's cabin at Lake Tahoe, and recovered by his wife with a detailed treasure map! These are just a few of the interesting stories among our 250 consignors in this auction."
