The Della Collection: #1 PCGS Registry Collection of Liberty Quarter Eagles to be sold by Heritage at September Long Beach

DALLAS, TEXAS: The Della Collection of Liberty quarter eagles, long listed on the PCGS Registry as the #1 Current Set, will be offered by Heritage Auction Galleries in their September 2006 Long Beach Signature Auction. Heritage is the Official Auctioneer of the Long Beach Coin, Stamp & Collectibles Expo. The Signature Auction will be held September 13-16, 2006 at the Long Beach Convention Center, 100 South Pine Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90802.

"The Della Collection contains an amazing three dozen different Mint State issues," noted Heritage President Greg Rohan. "Of the 36 coins, nine have been certified by NGC; so Della's position as the #1 leading collection is even stronger than just the PCGS Registry listing. We cannot imagine a more comprehensive Registry set for this important series. The collection has been a labor of love by the consignors - an uncle/nephew team on the West Coast - for many years, with the earliest pieces purchased some fifteen years ago."

"The consignors have told me that their favorite - and most challenging - issues were the Dahlonega pieces," concluded Rohan, "or perhaps it would be better to say that their Dahlonega purchases were their favorites because they were so difficult to acquire in high grade. They are selling a small portion of their holdings now in this hot market to expand in other coin areas.
