Dr. Eugene Cherny's #1 Registry Collection of $5 & $10 Indians

To be Auctioned by Heritage in November Dallas Auction

DALLAS, TX: The finest collection of American $5 and $10 Indian gold coins, assembled by noted plastic surgeon Eugene Cherny, will be sold by Heritage Auction Galleries in their November 2006 Signature Auction. The auction will be held in Dallas November 29-30 at Heritage's world headquarters. The Dallas Signature Auction will be accompanied by an OnLine Session, both to be posted in early November at www.HA.com.

"The #1 Finest NGC Registry Collection of Indian Head Half Eagles," explained Heritage President Greg Rohan, "is also rated by PCGS as their #2 Current Finest even without the NGC-certified 1910 and 1910-S coins included. The 24 coins in this set are accompanied by the #2 Finest NGC Registry collection of Indian Head Eagles, 1907-1933 (currently rated by PCGS as their #7 Finest set even without many NGC certifications). The $10 Indian set also requires many substantial rarities to complete. Taken together, this is an absolutely fabulous collection of American numismatic masterpieces."

Dr. Cherny practices in Des Moines, and is considered one of the finest plastic surgeons in the Midwest. As he puts it succinctly, "Beauty is my biz." He started collecting rare coins as a young man, but soon dedicated himself to the rigorous training required in his profession. He returned to coin collecting five years ago, and after briefly pursuing the same series that he had collected in his teens, realized that the beautiful twentieth century coins found in the gold series were the most appealing to him. As a plastic surgeon, his life revolves around beauty, and his hobbies included the decorative arts and sculpture of the early 1900s, including the Craftsmen aesthetic. It was a natural progression to "focus on the gold coins that were the most beautiful and aesthetically appealing, designed by our greatest sculptors."
