Heritage to Auction Outstanding Russian Coins at Long Beach!

Dallas, TX: An outstanding grouping of Russian coinage will highlight the Heritage World Coin Auctions offerings in Long Beach.

"The Russian coin market is incredibly hot," said Warren Tucker, Director of World Coin Auctions for Heritage, "so it shouldn't surprise anyone that we are thrilled with our upcoming offerings. The Belle Glade Collection is one of the finest quality Russian collections in the country, with many coins pedigreed to the famous Hesselgesser collection. Part Two of the Belle Glade collection, which we will be offering in Long Beach, contains over 80 coins, and includes a fabulous selection of top quality proof Russian gold coins as well as mint state and proof roubles."

"The highlight of the Long Beach Belle Glade offerings," Tucker continued, "is the Nicholas I. Proof Rouble 1839 CПБ-HГ. 1839 is a special year for collectors of Russian coinage. Proof examples of this prized year, especially the 1839 Rouble, have been highly sought-after for well over a century. We know of only two Proof 1839 Roubles sold in recent years. This is the rarest date Russian Rouble, which as a Gem Proof is perhaps the finest known, pedigreed to the Hesselgesser collection. It is undoubtedly destined for only the finest Russian collection."

"Our Russian offerings in Long Beach do not end with the Belle Glade collection," concluded Tucker. "From north of the border comes a second major collection of Russian material, specializing in scarce to rare roubles. We are also pleased to be offering an impressive group of Australian coins, a fantastic assortment of Hong King proofs and patterns of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, over 200 impressive lots of British coins, as well as a nice selection of Latin American material. I urge any serious collectors of world coins to visit www.HA.com/Coins, where they can follow the previews of this auction right up until it opens for Internet bidding in early May."
