Heritage Fine Art Auction Realizes $6+ Million!

Dallas, TX: Heritage Auction Galleries' recent Fine Art auction, held May 24 and 25, 2007 in Dallas, Texas, realized $6,071,421 for 614 lots offered, although after-auction sales are ongoing, and are expected to push the final total to even higher levels.

"This was an extremely strong auction," said Dr. Edmund P. Pillsbury, Chairman of Fine Arts for Heritage. "We saw vigorous bidder participation in each session, both in the auction room and on the phone, as well as via the Internet, all of which contributed to the impressive prices realized. The Frederic Remington painting, for example, performed extremely well, bringing $310,700 against a pre-auction estimate of $120,000 - $180,000."

"Heritage has a number of exceptional Art auctions coming up," Pillsbury said, "including our African and Oceanic Art auction on June 7, Illustration Art on June 14, The Harrisburg Collection of Western Photography on October 18, followed by Pre-Columbian and Native American Art on October 21.
