Rarities Highlight Summer F.U.N. Signature Auction
Dallas, TX: The Official Auction of the Inaugural Summer F.U.N. convention in West Palm Beach will be held by Heritage Auction Galleries on July 12 - 13, 2007.
"F.U.N.'s wonderful conventions," noted Heritage President Greg Rohan, "until now held every January, are traditionally the best-attended shows in the country. We are looking forward to helping the new Summer F.U.N. event grow in popularity as well. At last January's F.U.N., Heritage set the new world record for the most valuable numismatic auction at $78 million (beating our old record, also set at a F.U.N. event!). While this auction is smaller in size, it includes many quality coins - and we expect the bidding to be just as spirited!"
"The Summer F.U.N. Signature Auction," continued Rohan, "is highlighted by the Reuben Reinstein Collection of Morgan Dollars, the Silver Fox Collections of Gem Morgan Dollars and Classic Commemoratives, and the Gary Vanek Collection of exceptional type coins (including the single finest known 1916 half dollar). More than 200 consignors placed their important coins in this auction, and the catalog enjoys a wide range of quality coins, both as to series and values. It is especially strong in silver dollars and double eagles, although specialists in many other series will be impressed with the contents."
Preliminary viewing of the Summer F.U.N. lots will take place at the Marriott Inner Harbor in Baltimore on June 27 and at the Baltimore Convention Center on June 28-30. The main exhibition of lots will be at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach on July 11-13. The four sessions of the Signature Auction will take place July 12-13. Visit www.HA.com for location and session details.
