Heritage gears up for another Long Beach
DALLAS, TEXAS: Heritage’s September 26-28 Long Beach Signature Sale promises plenty of action, with 4,676 lots valued at nearly $10 million. This is Heritage’s 36th major event as the official auctioneer of the Long Beach Coin Expo, a record starting in 1985.“While we have had many memorable auctions over the years,” enthused HNAI Director Bob Korver, “this catalog will stand out due to its many pedigreed offerings and anchor consignments. Among the specialized collections are: Philip Kaufman’s Gem Seated Liberty proofs; the Estate of Jack L. Klausen, which includes dozens of extraordinary Territorials (he was the leading dealer for several decades); Dale Wilson’s complete sets of Standing Liberty Quarters and Walking Liberty Half Dollars; two wonderful groups of Early Dollars from Joseph Sadowski’s Collection and the Albany Collection (including two 1794s); Andy Geosits’ Collection of Trade Dollars containing 43 specimens, nearly all of the known varieties; Part 2 of the Robert Post Collection of Liberty Double Eagles containing more than four dozen different issues; another selection from football great Gregg Bingham displays more of his wonderfully toned Dollars and Commemoratives; and two collections of Nickels, the Chesapeake Collection of Buffaloes, and Jim Joyner’s complete set from 1866-1966. Among the more diversified collections are the John Adams Collection, Part 6 of the Ohio Collection; Part 6 of the Ohio Collection; and Part 2 of the Hans Poetsch Collection.”
According to Greg Rohan, Heritage’s Executive Vice President, “This auction offers an amazing variety of fresh coins with quality, pedigree, and rarity. Some of the lots are the finest known to the collecting community, and some offer buying opportunities not available for more than two decades, but there are also coins to satisfy the needs of every collector. For the most discriminating numismatist, however, our Signature Sale represents an incredible buying opportunity.”
