David Lisot Joins Heritage

David Lisot has joined the professionals at the world's largest coin and collectible auction company, Heritage Numismatic Auctions, Inc. in Dallas, Texas. Lisot will be in charge of a new outreach program created to assist coin clubs around the country promote the hobby of collecting. His duties will include numismatic research, assisting with consignment acquisition, and new project development.

According to Steve Ivy, Heritage Co- Chairman, "David's background in business management, computer technology, the coin and collectibles market, as well as his national reputation in television and videography, make him an excellent addition to the Heritage team. He is a valuable asset as we expand into other areas of the collectibles market.

"Lisot is active in the hobby's coin clubs. He served as a Governor of the American Numismatic Association from 1994-95, and was awarded the coveted Glenn Smedley Award. He has worked on numerous committees as well as contributing his videotaping services to the clubs to help promote the hobby and increase their membership. He is long-time member in the American Numismatic Association, American Israeli Numismatic Association, California State Numismatic Association, Central States Numismatic Society, Numismatics International, Florida United Numismatists, Numismatic Association of Southern California, Society of International Numismatists, Sociedad de Numismatica de Mexico, Texas Numismatic Association, and other chapters of various organizations.

Lisot has over three decades of experience in coins and collectibles. He has been a newsletter publisher, auction cataloger, researcher, and website developer. He has attended collector conventions in the United States and around the world since 1971. His expertise includes U.S. and world coins and paper money, as well as other areas of collectibles. He is a well-known personality on radio and television for his knowledge in collectibles. His recent achievements in video and television include being featured in the Public Television series, Money Moves, with Jack Gallagher, as on-air talent and segment producer for coins and collectibles. He produced the award winning video, Money, History in Your Hands, with veteran film star James Earl Jones, that also aired on Public Television.

He was the reporter for Financial News Network, (now CNBC), bringing the message of numismatics to countless viewers on Wall Street with his live news program, Coin Report, that aired daily for almost five years. Since the 1980s he has videotaped over 500 lectures and presentations about collecting. Lisot is a graduate of University of Colorado in Boulder, with a degree in philosophy. He was treasurer of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. He studied in Berlin, Germany where he became proficient in German language. He continued his education at UCLA in Los Angeles, California. He is a graduate gemologist, studying at the Gemological Institute of America in California. He has also attended classes for television and videography at various schools in Colorado and California. David is married with two children. He enjoys travel, history, martial arts, and religious studies.
