Heritage’s September Long Beach Auctions Realize More Than $10 Million

Dallas, Texas: Heritage Numismatic Auctions, Inc.reports that its September 2003 auctions held as the official auctioneer of the Long Beach Coin Expo, have exceeded $10.1 million in prices realized with additional sales pending. Prices include the 15% Buyer’s Premium, but only include items that actually sold.

The five-session HNAI Signature Sale, with 4,781 lots, realized $9,017,762 for the 4130 lots sold so far, with After Auction orders still arriving. The Heritage World Coin Auctions’ Signature Sale, with 1400+ lots, realized an additional $516,754. Heritage’s Bullet auction, with display at the Long Beach show, closed last night, realizing over $597,000 with the After Auction still in progress. The auction catalogs, descriptions, full-color images, and prices realized for the September 18-22 auctions are posted in the Permanent Auction Archives on Heritage’s award-winning website, www.HeritageCoin.com.

Our on-line web community now exceeds 90,000 members, and when combined with the active floor bidders in Long Beach, more than 3000 numismatists bid in the HNAI Sale alone; add to that additional thousands who participated in HWCA and the Bullet, and we show a total of well over 5000 bidders.”

Added Heritage President Greg Rohan, “The influence of Registry-level coins continues to be felt across all series, with unbelievable prices paid for examples among the finest-certified. Witness Lot 6894, a 1943-S Quarter certified MS68 by PCGS which realized $16,100, or Lot 7324, a 1950 Half Dollar graded MS67 Full Bell Lines by PCGS, which realized $28,750.”
