Heritage FUN Bullet Auction Posts Explosive Results!

Dallas, Texas: Heritage Numismatic Auctions, Inc. (HNAI) FUN Bullet Auction (sale #361), which closed Monday night, January 17, 2005, turned in total sell-through of $1,342,207.50. With 1,222 bidders competing for 4,304 lots, 636 were successful. 4,032 lots found new owners, for 93.68% of the total.

"This was one of our biggest and best Bullet auctions ever," said Heritage Co-Chairman Jim Halperin, "part of our record-breaking FUN sale, the largest auction event in numismatic history."

Heritage's Bullet auctions are posted at Heritage's award-winning website and are also displayed in person at the coin convention with which they are associated. Every single-coin lot includes full color enlargeable images of the obverse and reverse, latest population and third-party pricing data, and comparable auction records to help bidders determine their bids with confidence. HeritageCoin members who sign up with My WantList online are automatically notified whenever specific coins they need are posted for bidding.

Here are just a few of the highlights sold in the January 17 Bullet Auction:

1883-S $20 MS62 NGC. Fully brilliant with splendid orange-gold coloration highlighted by a hint of pinkish toning. From The Richard J. Chouinard Collection of United States Coins.(#9000) (Registry values: N2998) REALIZED: $2,530.

1888 $20 MS62 PCGS. A frosty Mint State example with sharp design features and excellent eye appeal. This is possibly a candidate for a higher grade. From The Richard J. Chouinard Collection of United States Coins.(#9008) (Registry values: N1793) REALIZED: $2,530.

1891-S $20 MS62 NGC. An outstanding example. Sharply struck and fully brilliant with frosty yellow-gold surfaces. From The Richard J. Chouinard Collection of United States Coins.(#9018) (Registry values: N1793) REALIZED: $2,530.

1911-S $20 MS64 PCGS. Near-Gem quality throughout with patches of bright orange-yellow patina on both sides. The fields have a slight orange-peel texture and add to the eye appeal of this already outstanding example. From The Richard J. 1948-S 10C MS68 Full Torch Prooflike NGC. A fully brilliant Superb Gem with noticeably flashy fields and a strong strike on the bands of the torch. As of (12/04), the finest of only two 1948-S Dimes certified as both Prooflike and Full Torch by NGC.(#85090) (Registry values: P1) REALIZED: $2,300.
