Heritage Lowers Internet Bidding Increments on Lower-Priced Items

Dallas, Texas: Heritage Numismatic Auctions, Inc. announces the lowering of its Internet bidding increment requirements on lower-priced coins. Beginning October 11, all Internet bids under $100 in its Exclusively Internet, Signature and Bullet auctions will be subject to a bidding increment of only $1 above the current bid. Heritage's previous increments as follows will remain in effect once any lot reaches $100 or more:

Heritage's intent is to provide budget - minded collectors the ability to obtain their target items at or near their value versus a somewhat larger increment above the next highest bid. This new policy should also help consignors by increasing the number of Internet bids per item on inexpensive coins, while increasing the total number of Internet participants.

Heritage has been extremely successful at attracting Internet participation with its user-friendly bidding features such as My WantList notification and MyHeritage bid tracking, and by posting full-color zoom-able images of every single-coin lots, as well as third-party pricing and rarity data and previous auction results on each lot page. "We are always anxious to introduce more bidders to our site," explains Brian Shipman, Heritage's Chief Internet Officer, "because once people try us, they almost invariably keep coming back. And this policy change seemed like a nice way to attract new participants."
