Results of Heritage's Weekly Internet Movie Poster Auctions for June, 2005

DALLAS, TEXAS: Heritage's Weekly Internet Movie Poster Auctions (IMPA), including auctions #55061 (closed Sunday, June 5), #55062 (closed Sunday, June 12), #55063 (closed Sunday, June 19), and #55064 (closed Sunday, June 26) posted strong results for June, 2005.

The IMPA auctions saw 407 bidders competing for 338 lots over the four auctions, 180 were successful. Total ACA sell-through was $19,935 for 338 lots sold (100%).

Heritage's IMPA auctions begin and end every Sunday at 10pm CT. IMPA auctions now run on a weekly rotation, so a new auction opens and closes each Sunday night, giving poster enthusiasts more frequent opportunities to add new material to their collections. Highlights from the June IMPA auctions include:

Cool Hand Luke (Warner Brothers, 1967). One Sheet (27" X 41"). Offered here is a vintage, theater-used poster for this prison drama directed by Stuart Rosenberg and stars Paul Newman, George Kennedy and Strother Martin. This linen backed one sheet has had the upper left corner replaced. The side borders were painted and small tears and nicks were repaired. The finished product is in terrific shape. Fine/Very Fine on Linen. REALIZED: $546.

Blade Runner (Warner Brothers, 1982). One Sheet (27" X 41"). This is a folded, vintage, theater-used poster for this sci-fi thriller directed by Ridley Scott and stars Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer and Sean Young. The poster appears to be an unissued, absolute mint copy. Mint. REALIZED: $431.

I Was a Teenage Frankenstein (American International, 1957). One Sheet (27" X 41"). Offered here is a folded, vintage, theater-used poster from this 1950s horror film directed by Herbert L. Strock and stars Whit Bissell, Phylis Coates and Robert Burton. The one sheet has a few nicks and minor border tears. There is slight storage wrinkling evident, but overall, it is in great condition. Very Fine-. REALIZED: $431.

Bend Of The River (Universal, 1952). One Sheet (27" X 41"). Offered here is a folded, vintage, theater-used poster for this epic Western directed by Anthony Mann and stars James Stewart and Rock Hudson. The one sheet has a 2" missing section at the top right border, slightly running into the image's background. There are minor edge crumples and a small tear at the very bottom center fold. The image area is magnificent. Very Fine/Near Mint. REALIZED: $322.

White Heat (J.D. Trop, 1934). One Sheet (27" X 41"). This is a folded, vintage, theater-used poster for this early soap drama directed by Lois Weber and stars Virginia Cherrill, Mona Maris and Hardie Albright. There is one small tear in the top center margin and chipping along the upper left leading edge. Very Fine. REALIZED: $322.

Atlantic Flight (Monogram, 1937). One Sheet (27" X 41"). Offered here is a folded, vintage, theater-used poster for this flying adventure directed by William Nigh and stars Dick Merrill, Paula Stone and Milburn Stone. The beautiful stone litho has some centerfold separation plus a few spots of nicks and tears. The main image area is in fine shape. Fine+. REALIZED: $299.

King of the Wild (Mascot, 1931). One Sheet (27" X 41"). Offered here is a folded, vintage, theater-used poster for this serial adventure directed by Richard Thorpe and stars Boris Karloff and Walter Miller. This gorgeous one sheet from Chapter 9 of the 12 episode action serial. The one sheet is like new and, except for very minor centerfold separation and faint signs of edge bumps, would easily be graded Mint. Near Mint. REALIZED: $299.

The Joe Louis Story (United Artists, 1953). One Sheet (27" X 41"). Offered here is a folded, vintage, theater-used poster for this sports docu-drama directed by Robert Gordon and stars Coley Wallace as champion boxer Joe Louis with appearances by Max Schmeling and Rocky Marciano. The one sheet is in pristine condition with slight foxing along a few border areas. Near Mint. REALIZED: $253.

Private Eyes (Allied Artists, 1953). One Sheet (27" X 41"). Offered here is a vintage, theater-used poster for this 1950s comedy directed by Edward Bernds and stars Leo Gorcey, Huntz Hall and the Bowery Boys. It has a few faint stains on the lower border, otherwise, the one sheet is in mint condition. Near Mint. REALIZED: $230.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (Paramount, 1984). One Sheet (27" X 41"). This is a folded, vintage, theater-used poster for this adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg and stars Harrison Ford, Kate Capshaw and Amrish Puri. There are a few very tiny edge bumps;otherwise in perfect shape. Near Mint. REALIZED: $184.
