Holy Bat-Tights! Heritage to Auction Original Batman and Robin Costumes!

DALLAS, TEXAS: Heritage Music & Entertainment Auctions (HMEA) will auction an original Batman costume and an original Robin costume, as worn by Adam West and Burt Ward respectively, both from the legendary 1960s TV show, in their upcoming Signature auction, to be held October 8, 2005 in Dallas, TX.

"These are truly a Bat-fan's dream come true," said Doug Norwine, Director of HMEA. "From 1966 through 1968, TV viewers were treated to the larger-than-life adventures of Batman and Robin, brought to glorious full-color life by Adam West and Burt Ward. An instant hit, the show featured some of the biggest stars of the day in a dazzling array of cameos as Batman's vile villains. Still rerun on stations across the globe, this is a show that captivated the hearts and minds of countless children around the world."

"Offered here," Norwine continued, "are two original costumes from this landmark show, each one worn by the original actors. The Batman costume is complete with the cowl, cape, bodysuit, trunks, boots, gloves and the ever-important utility belt, while the Robin outfit comes with mask, cape, tights, green shirt, trunks, vest, belt, gloves and boots. Both outfits are in great shape, and would be the crown jewel of any Bat-collection. Best of all, the Batman costume comes with a Letter of Authenticity signed by Adam West, while the Robin costume is accompanied by a Letter of Authenticity signed by Burt Ward. And just in time for Halloween, to boot! What can I say but, 'Holy Once-In-A-Lifetime-Opportunity, Batman!'"

Each costume carries a pre-auction estimate of $35,000 - $40,000.
