Incredible Bogart Poster Collection to be Offered by Heritage!

DALLAS, TEXAS: Heritage Vintage Movie Posters (HVMP) will present a magnificent archive of movie posters spotlighting cinema icon Humphrey Bogart in their upcoming Signature Auction, to be held November 11 & 12, 2005, in Dallas, Texas.

"Humphrey Bogart was the silver screen's consummate 'tough guy,'" said Grey Smith, Director of HVMP, "and has rightly been voted the Number One Star in Hollywood history by the American Film Institute. The legacy of classic films left behind by this great actor is staggering, and we're very proud to present this unbelievable collection as a tribute to this great star."

"We'll be offering over 175 separate items spanning the length and breadth of Bogie's career," said Smith, "from a US lobby card from The Petrified Forest, the film that made Bogart a star, to a rare country-of-origin British one-sheet from The African Queen, for which Bogart won the Best Actor Oscar in 1952."

"Of course, some of Bogart's best-known roles were those of Rick Blaine in Casablanca, which is represented here by the extremely desirable US one-sheet, and Sam Spade, Dashiell Hammett's legendary private eye from The Maltese Falcon, for which we offer the beautiful French Grande."

"There's also some wonderful Italian paper in this auction," said Smith, "such as the four panel for To Have and have Not, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, the Italian one sheet to Dead End, and The Big Sleep Italian two panel. Clearly, Bogart's fame was truly global."

"Over the last several auctions, we've seen increased interest in Bogart material," Smith said, "so this unique archive should cause quite a bit of bidding frenzy among collectors. The material in this collection spans the world, and includes some of the most beautiful movie paper ever produced. No one who loves Bogie will want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime event."
