1936-D 5C 3 1/2 Legs AU50 NGC.
FS-019. This issue is scarce in all grades and many, many times rarer than the 1937-D Three-Legged Buffalo, its closest cousin. The front left (facing) leg was nearly polished off of the die, yet vestiges still show of the bottom half of the leg and the hoof below. This piece offers pleasing surfaces with silver-gold glints, still somewhat lustrous. There is a cut through the bison's hindquarter and a small pinscratch through the highpoint hair on the Indian that help define the grade. Census: 1 in 50, 4 finer (8/06).
