Captain Action Tonto Uniform Set (Ideal, 1966).
Get a gander at this, Kemosabe. This is an immaculate specimen of Tonto with the Video-Matic ring and the original molded-plastic bow that was so prone to breaking. You might be able to find a Tonto uniform but unless you find a boxed set your chances of finding all the pieces intact are mighty slim. This gorgeous set has it all; a mint bow, all four arrows and even Taka the eagle. You really can't go wrong buying the best. Try finding a better example, we dare you!

Sold For:
$1,980.00
Captain Action Buck Rogers Uniform Set (Ideal, 1967).
Released during the second wave of Captain Action uniforms (which included the all-new Video-Matic flasher Rings), this was one of the most elaborate and meticulously-crafted sets in the Captain Action line; from "heat sensing" rocket-pack cylinders to the accessory-laden belt to the form-fitting gloves (a rare accessory in the CA line; even Batman didn't have them!), this was plenty of bang for a kid's buck! Even the smallish insignia on the chest bears the over-explanatory legend "Buck Rogers In the 25th Century Rocket Ranger"! Contents are mint, and the box is Very Fine/Near Mint, with light overall wear, and a (perhaps original?) price written in ball-point pen just below the Ideal logo on the front. There is also a smallish yellow stain just to the left of the word "Buck," but overall this an exceptionally bold and fresh-looking example of this rare set. Most of the second-wave uniform sets are tougher to find than the first, and Buck is no exception. This beautiful example would gussy up any Captain Action collection.

Sold For:
$1,800.00
Captain Action Sgt. Fury Uniform Set, Second Issue (Ideal, 1967).
Created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, Sgt. Fury was Marvel's answer to DC's best-selling Sgt. Rock, and while the relative merits of the characters are subject to debate, there's no avoiding the fact that Sgt. Rock never became a Captain Action alter ego -- but Fury did. An outstanding set, reminiscent of the G.I. Joe sets that were contemporary with CA, Sgt. Fury has one of the best face-mask scultps of the entire series. As an added bonus, this is the tougher-to-find 1967 re-issue with the Video-Matic ring. Contents are mint, while the box is Very Fine, with very light creasing at the corners, and the usual foxing on the ring sticker. A fantastic display piece, and one of the best Captain Action uniform sets.

Captain Action Superman Uniform Set (Ideal, 1966).
The Man of Steel was perhaps the best-known superhero on Captain Action's transformation roster, and this great-looking set represented the Last Son of Krypton well, even down to including his super-pet Krypto! Costume and accessories are mint, the box is excellent, but shows some light creasing at the corners and some discoloration along the bottom edge and especially on the bottom panel. Still, a fabulous display piece, with candy-bright colors. A must for Superman collectors, and the cornerstone of any Captain Action collection.
