1855 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-168 Original, Pollock-193, R.4, PR64 Red and Brown PCGS.
Thirteen stars surround an eagle flying slightly upward, similar to that seen on the Gobrecht dollar reverse. The reverse is based upon the then-current large cent, but the wreath is diminished in scale. Struck in bronze with a plain edge. The PCGS holder states the alloy as 93% copper, 6.2% tin, and 0.7% zinc. Beautifully patinated cherry-red and sea-green. The strike is intricate on the eagle and most of the stars. The wreath is bold aside from a leaf cluster near the C in AMERICA. Both sides are clashed, as often seen on patterns from these dies. PCGS Population: (20/2). NGC Census: (3/3). CDN: $3,900 Whsle. Bid for NGC/PCGS PR64.
Ex: Tom & Jean Fore Collection; FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/2016), lot 6279.

1870 50C Half Dollar, Judd-935, Pollock-1041, R.7, PR64 Red and Brown PCGS.
A seated figure of Liberty faces left on the obverse with 13 stars surrounding. The date is below, a free-standing liberty pole is behind, and LIBERTY is inscribed on a scroll crossing a small shield. The reverse is the same type that was used to coin regular-issue Seated halves. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. This exquisitely struck near-Gem has only a very few and unimportant handling marks in the fields. The obverse has radiant gold color with hints of lilac patina, while the reverse has deeper lavender and orange-red hues. Population: 4 in 64, 1 finer (11/04).

1863 Two-Cent Piece, Judd-312, Pollock-377, R.4, PR 64 Red and Brown PCGS.
Similar to the adopted two-cent piece of the following year except that the motto reads GOD OUR TRUST and the word CENTS is sharply curved within the wreath. Struck in copper or bronze with a plain edge. A deeply patinated coin whose surfaces have also taken on layerings of dark blue and violet toning. The reverse has clash marks in the fields from an earlier die pairing with a Washington Head pattern, leaving a distinct impression on that side of the profile of Washington as well as D OUR C at the top from GOD AN(D OUR C)OUNTRY. An interesting variant of this otherwise rather common pattern.
