Gold Key Miscellaneous Disney Bound Volumes (Gold Key, 1964-65).
These are Western Publishing file copies that have been trimmed and bound into two hardcover volumes. The comics included here are
Walt Disney's Comics and Stories
#289, 290, 291, 292, 293, 294, 295, 296, 297, 298, 299, and 300 (the first couple of issues have Annette Funicello backup features);
Donald Duck
#100, 101, 102, 103, 104, and 105;
Mickey Mouse
#99, 100, 101, 102, 103, and 104. Some books have handwritten reprint notes in pen and pencil on the front cover, inside cover, and first page. A couple of pages have the corners torn off, and one page has amateur tape repair. There's an interesting bonus taped to a page of
Comics and Stories
#295, namely an approval slip signed by Western editor Zetta De Voe requesting reprint approval of the story "Medicine Man Mystery," with a handwritten note from a Disney staffer rejecting it, no doubt because of the portrayal of Indians in the story. Overstreet 2005 VG 4.0 value for group = $158.
From the Random House Archives.
