DRC, Petrus Vintages Among Highlights in Heritage Auctions’ Wine Auction

Burgundy continues to exceed expectations

Wine Auction
DALLAS, Texas (Dec. 4, 2018) — Blue-chip bottles, including an impressive array of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and pre-war First Growths, are among the top lots offered in Heritage Auctions' Wine Auction Dec. 7-8 in Beverly Hills, California. The auction, with pre-auction estimates that project to a total return of as much as $1.8 million, will be simulcast live in Hong Kong.

"2018 has been an incredible year in wine, and we're thrilled to end our year with a sale full of highlights," Heritage Auctions Fine Wine Director Frank Martell said. "The market has never been stronger at the top end, and this auction reflects that with nearly $2 million packed into 700 choice lots."

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti leads the way in highlights, with Romanée-Conti 1985 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Bottle (2) in pristine condition (estimate 25,000-35,000) vying for top lot honors. All in all, there are more than 50 lots of DRC, including 15 each of La Tâche and Romanée-Conti. Not to be outdone, nearly 200 lots of First Growths lead a strong Bordeaux charge with vintages dating back to the legendary 1928.

Prominent in the sale will be 28 lots of Petrus, including:

· Chateau Petrus 1989 Pomerol Bottle (6): estimate $18,000-24,000

· Chateau Petrus 1982 Pomerol Bottle (4): estimate $12,000-15,000

· Chateau Petrus 1982 Pomerol Bottle (2): estimate $6,000-8,000

Other highlights include:

· Chateau Lafite Rothschild 1982 Pauillac Bottle (8): estimate $17,000-22,000

· Romanée-Conti 1979 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Bottle (2): estimate $15,000-20,000

· Chateau Latour 1982 Pauillac Bottle (11): estimate $15,000-20,000

· Romanée-Conti 1976 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Bottle (2): estimate $14,000-18,000
