Heritage Internet Currency Auction Results #34071

Dallas, Texas: Heritage's 608-lot Internet sale #34071, which closed Thursday night, July 15, sold 683 lots (88.01% of lots offered). Total sales were $96,700.60. With 464 bidders participating, 234 were successful.

Every single-item lot includes full-color enlargeable images of the obverse and reverse, to help bidders determine their bids with confidence.

Below are some of the highlights from the July 15 sale:

Shreveport, LA - $100 1902 Plain Back Fr. 700 The Commercial NB Ch. # 3600
This C-note should generate some serious activity, as the John Hickman Project reports only 14 Third Charter $100s on the whole state, and that does not include this note. CGA Very Fine 35. Realized $2,472.50

Houston, TX- Treasurer of the Republic of Texas $100 Jun. 15, 1837 Cr. H-9 Medlar 40
At center is a lone star, with this example being the scarce variety with the incorrect printer's emblem at the southwest corner of the inner row around the C counter. This example has three cut cancels and the corners exhibit rounding. It needs to be realized that the Sam Houston signature was done by a clerk. Still, a very desirable Republic of Texas Star note. Very Fine. Realized $1,955.00

Fr. 2212-G $1,000 1934-A Federal Reserve Note. About Very Fine.
Probably a note with a slightly higher technical grade but some of the folds are heavier than usually seen. Realized $1,667.50 sales close (and a new sale begins) at 10pm CT on the 15th and 30th day of every month. The complete prices realized along with full-color images of every coin in this sale, and all other Heritage auctions, are available at no charge to Heritage Coin members in the Permanent Auction Archives (membership is totally free).

I find the reason for the success of Heritage is not only its wide range of merchandise, also, it is in its quality of service, lacking at the old auction houses, which are mired in out dated models and mired in their own arrogance in their mode of the treatment of customers.
