THE MODERN TRADITIONAL MIX: INCORPORATING COLLECTABLE PIECES WITH NEW FURNISHINGS TO CREATE UNIQUE, TIMELESS INTERIORS

Bill Hutchinson

Susan Bednar Long has been synonymous with award-winning interior design for over 20 years. Her firm, S. B. Long Interiors, Inc., is a Dallas-based interior design firm whose "modern traditional" signature style is internationally recognized.

Susan graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Occidental College and studied at UCLA's Interior and Environmental Design Program. Her work is inspired by her experiences at Polo Ralph Lauren and Coach designing their Flagship retail stores, her extensive travels, and early design training in New York.

Since moving to Dallas in 2013, she has been named one of D Home's Best Designers each year, and she has won five Dallas Paper City Design Awards. Ms. Long's projects have been featured in many shelter publications and books, including Architectural Digest, Luxe Magazine, DHome and the prestigious Andrew Martin Interior Design Review.

Susan works closely with her diverse client base to create timeless interiors that reflect their individual style. Recent projects include an extensive renovation of a country estate in Provence, France, a modern Craftsman-style home in Preston Hollow, and a historic Tudor Estate in Greenwich, Connecticut.
