Heritage Auctions Welcomes Liz Goodridge as its West Coast Vice President and Director of American Art

Goodridge joins the growing team of the auction house’s powerhouse American Masters category

Liz Goodridge
DALLAS, Texas (Jan. 24, 2025) — Heritage Auctions is pleased to announce that Liz Goodridge has joined the auction house’s growing and notable American Art category in its Fine and Decorative Arts department as its West Coast-based Vice President and Director of American Art. Goodridge, who specializes in both 19th- and early 20th-century American Masters, came aboard in January of this year and builds on 15 years of experience in both the primary and secondary American Art markets.

Goodridge will work closely with Heritage’s New York-based Senior Vice President of American Art, Aviva Lehmann and the rest of the Fine Art team.

“Heritage Auctions is thrilled and deeply honored to welcome Liz Goodridge to our team,” says Lehmann. “Liz’s remarkable expertise, exceptional connoisseurship, and genuine passion for American Art have earned her widespread admiration within the field. She is deeply respected by both clients and colleagues, and we are delighted to have her as a senior member of our American Art department. Together, we look forward to building on our leadership in the American Art market and achieving even greater success. The future is bright with Liz on board.”

Prior to joining Heritage, Goodridge held positions at Sotheby’s and Bonhams in New York City as a Specialist in American Art. Her tenure in the industry is highlighted by an extensive collection of single-owner sales including the handling of The L.D. “Brink” Brinkman Collection of Western American Art, and artworks and personal effects from the estates of Georgia O’Keeffe and Alfred Stieglitz, culminating in the sale “Alfred Stieglitz, Georgia O’Keeffe, Juan Hamilton: Passage.” Goodridge has most recently headed the monumental single-owner sale series of The Wolf Family Collection. Prior to her auction career, she held positions with two private dealers operating galleries in New York.

Goodridge holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from Marymount Manhattan College.

In 2024, Goodridge became a Certified Appraiser in the field of American Art with the Appraisers Association of America (AAA) and produces USPAP-compliant appraisals for collection management, estate tax, insurance, retail replacement, damage, and loss.

“I am thrilled to join Heritage’s American Art team,” says Goodridge. “With decades of combined experience among our skilled team of career specialists, I’m honored to work alongside these industry experts who possess an unmatched, deep knowledge in the field. I look forward to joining my new colleagues in further expanding Heritage’s reach in the American Art market, as well as continuing our support for and preservation of the category and its diverse offerings.

“With headquarters in Dallas and dedicated American Art experts on both the East and West Coasts, Heritage offers an unparalleled level of service to clients across the country. I am excited to continue working with existing collectors as well as fostering new connections with the next generation of American Art collectors nationwide and worldwide.”
