Heritage Auctions Welcomes Charles A. Shultz as Director of Trusts & Estates, Beverly Hills
Shultz brings more than 30 years of experience in fiduciary law, estate planning and wealth stewardship to serve collectors and their advisors
In this new role, Shultz will work closely with attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, trust companies, agents and business managers to meet the evolving needs of high-net-worth families and individuals. His work spans the full spectrum of Heritage’s services, from insurance and estate appraisals to charitable giving and the thoughtful liquidation or rotation of fine art and collectibles. “Charles is a consummate professional with unmatched experience in fiduciary law and family governance,” says Roberta Kramer, Heritage’s Senior Vice President of Business Development. “He understands the nuances of fiduciary work better than anyone, and his ability to serve as a bridge between legal, financial and personal priorities makes him an invaluable partner to our clients.” Shultz most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Fiduciary Officer at City National Bank, where he played a key role in strengthening trust services across all 50 states. He advised on legal strategy, governance and risk management while spearheading major initiatives including legislative reform in Tennessee to modernize trust administration. A native of Los Angeles, Shultz was raised in the San Fernando Valley and still calls Studio City home, where he lives with his family. He is a proud UCLA graduate and earned his law degree from Loyola Law School. He later completed his Master of Laws in Taxation at NYU School of Law. His love for the arts was sparked as a child by a visit to the Huntington Library, where he encountered Gainsborough’s The Blue Boy — a moment followed by a formative trip to New York that introduced him to the works of Norman Rockwell. When not advising clients, Shultz is an amateur chef with a deep appreciation for wine and a lifelong commitment to his community. “I’m thrilled to join Heritage and contribute to its exceptional work in helping families preserve and transition their collections,” says Shultz. “This role allows me to combine my legal and fiduciary experience with a genuine passion for the arts.” Charles A. Shultz is now available to consult on trust and estate matters, appraisals, charitable planning and collection management. He can be reached at charless@ha.com or 310-500-7565.
