Longtime Heritage leader takes on expanded role guiding companywide operations and the technology vision driving the company’s global growth
Spiegel joined Heritage in 2013 as part of the World & Ancient Coins department after graduating from the University of Chicago with a degree in Classics and History. His steady leadership and thoughtful approach have made him a trusted voice across the organization. “We are excited that Sam will be taking over as Chief Operating Officer and Technology Principal,” says Steve Ivy, Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of Heritage Auctions. “Sam represents the next generation of leadership at Heritage. His deep understanding of our business, his disciplined operational approach and his passion for innovation make him uniquely qualified to help guide Heritage into the future.” As COO and Technology Principal, Spiegel will focus on aligning operations across all categories, expanding scalable systems and ensuring that Heritage continues to deliver a seamless, world-class experience for clients, whether in person, online or through the company’s proprietary digital platforms. “I’m incredibly honored to step into this role,” Spiegel said. “Heritage is a place where innovation and tradition work hand in hand, and I’ve been fortunate to learn from some of the most dedicated and visionary people in the industry. I’m excited to continue working with our teams across the company to build systems, experiences and opportunities that serve our clients and support Heritage’s long-term growth.” “Sam’s appointment represents the continuation of a tradition we’re very proud of at Heritage: developing exceptional young talent into the leaders who will guide our future,” says Jim Halperin, Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of the Board. “Sam has earned the respect of our teams across the company, and I’m thrilled to see him take on this expanded role. Heritage’s culture of transparency, integrity, innovation, expertise and long-term perspective will endure under the guidance of our next generation of leaders like Sam.” Heritage Auctions continues to invest deeply in technology, data and user experience as the company strengthens its position as the premier destination for collectors and consignors worldwide.
